Brazilian exports of soybeans are expected to close May at 16.19 million tons, according to a weekly survey by the National Association of Cereal Exporters (ANEC). In May last year, exports stood at 13.87 million tons. In April, the country shipped 15.67 million tons.
In the week between May 9 and 15, Brazil shipped 3.15 million tons. For the period between May 16th and 22nd, ANEC indicates the export of 4.11 million tons.
For soybean meal, the forecast is for shipments of 1.79 million tons in May. In the same month last year, the total exported was 1.77 million tons. In April, volume was 1.58 million tons. Last week, exports were 423.83 thousand tons and the forecast for this week is 561.3 thousand tons.
ANEC does not project corn shipments in May. In May last year, Brazil exported 29.7 thousand tons. In April, sales abroad totaled 22 thousand tons.
