Brazilian chicken meat exports (considering all products, including fresh and specialized products) totaled 386.2 thousand tons in June, according to the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA). The number is 64% higher than that recorded in the same period last year, when 235.4 thousand tons were shipped.

In the semester, the sectoral export performance reached a high of 11.4%, with 2.045 million tons exported in 2019, against 1.836 million tons exported last year.
In terms of revenue, the increase reached 14.9%. In the first six months of this year, US$ 3.406 billion in sales were made, compared to US$ 2.964 billion in 2018.
“There was an increase in purchases by almost all major importers, which generated a positive trend in exports. The international context of high demand for protein is felt in the most diverse markets,” analyzes Francisco Turra, president of ABPA.
China, the main destination for Brazilian exports, increased its purchases by 22.6% between January and June this year compared to the same period last year, totaling 257.9 thousand tons.
The European Union increased its purchases by 21%, reaching 129.9 thousand tons in the first half of the year. The United Arab Emirates increased its purchases by 35.7%, reaching 192 thousand tons in the same period.
“The Arab markets have maintained a good flow of product imports, with solid growth in sales to the United Arab Emirates,” analyzes Ricardo Santin, executive director of ABPA.
