India's fertilizer imports close 2022 with record

Volume almost 18% higher than the 2021 total.

In December 2022, India imported the second highest monthly volume of the year in question, which represented an increase of 12.3% compared to the month of November and 23.19% compared to the same period in 2021.

In 2022, imports from the Asian country were almost 18% higher than the total from the immediately previous year.

The increase in Indian fertilizer purchases in December is a consequence of negotiations that the country has carried out with its partners, especially Russia.

Over the past year, India exercised a diplomatic balance to acquire its inputs, much of which came from Russia, which was suffering sanctions from the West.
