Brazil is the fifth largest producer of coconut in the world and the state of Ceará is the 2nd largest in the country.
With more than 200 possible products from its harvest, the coconut takes care of about 5 thousand hectares planted, generating 200 thousand direct and indirect jobs. Among oil, water, flour and fat, coconut still supplies raw materials for handicrafts, thermal and acoustic insulation, coatings, benches, among others.
Aboissa, in order to update the situation of coconut production as a raw material and its products, since in the second half of 2019 production grew by 20%, visited 6 companies in a 3-day trip through Ceará with specialists Michel Aboissa and Vinicius Santana.
