Ukraine's grain exports in the 2019/20 season, from July to June, have increased by about 29% year-on-year to date, reaching 35 million tonnes by January 27, said the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture this Monday.
The rise in exports has been driven by higher shipments of wheat and corn, according to the government.
Wheat exports grew by 4.2 million tonnes to 15.6 million tonnes, according to a statement from the ministry.
Ukraine also exported 3.85 million tonnes of barley and 15.1 million tonnes of maize, the folder said.
The country harvested a record 75 million tonnes of grain in 2019, up from 70 million in 2018.
