Agricultural Front defends relations with China

The Parliamentary Front of Agriculture, made up of almost 300 congressmen, said on Thursday that "it wishes to maintain bilateral relations between Brazil and China at the highest level", after the publication of deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro on Twitter the day before it generated a strong reaction from the embassy Chinese.

On the social network, the son of President Jair Bolsonaro compared the epidemic of the virus to the nuclear disaster in Chernobyl, in the Soviet Union, and said that “it is China's fault” for the spread of the disease, which started in the eastern country, accusing the have hidden information about the problem.

The official profile of the Chinese Embassy on Twitter countered and published that the deputy's words were “extremely irresponsible”, adding that such a stance “is infecting friendships among our peoples”.

"Isolated statements do not represent the sentiment of the nation or any sector," stated the Frente da Agropecuária, in a note signed by its president, deputy Alceu Moreira (MDB-RS).

“China is a long-time partner of Brazil with whom we have an excellent commercial and friendship relationship. Here is also our deepest desire for unity to fight the new coronavirus together, without any major damage to human life and global international relations, ”he added in a note.
