The Department of Rural Economy (Deral), of the State Secretariat for Agriculture and Supply of Paraná, reported, in its weekly report, that the planting of the 2021 wheat harvest in Paraná reaches 85% of the planned area of 1.170 million hectares. It should be 4% higher compared to the 1.125 million hectares cultivated in 2020.
According to Deral, 95% of crops present good development conditions and 5% average, between the germination (12%) and vegetative growth (88%) phases. Last week, planting reached 80% of the area, with 92% of crops in good condition and 8% in average development conditions. On June 8, 2020, planting was complete in 79% of the area.
The 2021 wheat harvest in Paraná is expected to record a production of 3.820 million tons, 22% above the 3.123 million tons harvested in the 2020 season. Average productivity is estimated at 3,266 kilos per hectare, above the 2,795 kilos per hectare recorded in the 2020 season .
