As reported by the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange (BCBA), the current crop scenario in Argentina shows significant evolution in the main agricultural commodities. In the case of wheat, the cultivated area is estimated to be 6.3 million hectares. Of this total, an impressive 90% have cultivation conditions classified as normal or good. In addition, 42% of the area is under adequate or optimal water conditions, which is crucial for the healthy development of the crop. BCBA highlights that 44.6% of the area has already advanced beyond the macollaje stage, evidencing substantial progress in the development of the wheat crop.

Regarding barley, BCBA reports that sowing has been completed, with an inter-fortnightly advance of 2.6 percentage points. Although some specific lots still need to be sown in the center of the province of Buenos Aires, these lots should not significantly impact the current estimate for the area cultivated with barley. The completion of sowing indicates a good outlook for the future harvest, since the crop is already well established.

For the corn, the situation is equally positive in Argentina. The harvest advanced 4.3 percentage points last week, reaching a total of 96.3% of the estimated area. The average yield recorded so far is 65 bags per hectare, which reflects a robust performance. Based on these data, BCBA maintains its production projection for corn at 46.5 million tons. This performance is indicative of a promising harvest, with good productivity and potential to meet demand both in the domestic market and for export.
