Technologies for cotton, peanuts, castor beans and sesame will be presented in Cariri Ceará

 

Tecnologias para o algodão, amendoim, mamona e gergelim serão apresentadas no cariri cearense
The municipality of Barbalha, located in Cariri Ceará, southern region of the state, will host next Thursday (10) a field day on Technologies for cotton, peanut, castor and sesame crops for the Semiarid region. The event will take place at the Embrapa Algodão Experimental Field, starting at 7 am, and should attract producers, technicians, representatives of partner institutions and agronomy students from the region.

Among the highlights of the field day are the new colored cotton cultivar for the Semiarid and Cerrado (BRS Jade), new transgenic cotton cultivars, the new sesame cultivar (BRS Anahi) and the benefits of crop rotation for the production.

 

“Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the production systems of each of the crops, as well as good practices such as crop rotation, which improve the soil profile, contribute to nutrient absorption and also pest control”, said the supervisor of the Barbalha Experimental Field, Gildo Pereira de Araújo.
