PIGS/CEPEA: Prices of some cuts rise by more than 30% in the month

With the drop in temperature, the prices of cuts used in dishes such as feijoada have been showing significant increases in the Brazilian market. According to data from Cepea, wholesale in the state of São Paulo, in May (from April 28 to May 24), the value of salted leather rose significantly by 32%, reaching an average of R$ 3.85/kg this Wednesday -Friday, 24.

 

Salted ribs appreciated by 16.1% in the same period, with an average of R$ 12.56/kg. According to Cepea researchers, even though this increase is expected at this time of year, the intensity of the upward movement has been surprising sector players.
